The Jackrabbits dominated the Wills Point Tigers in every phase of the game Friday night at City Bank Stadium walking away with a 50 - 8 Bi-District win to move on to the Area Playoffs next weekend. On theJackrabbits 3rd play from scrimmage Baylen Laury raced 68 yards to start the Jackrabbits awsome Offensive display that would roll up 477 yards rushing on just 36 attempts. Laury recorded his 2nd best effort of the season rushing 234 yards on 12 carries which is an average of 19.5 yards per attempt. With 1:58 left in the 1st quarter Andy Richardson intercepted Brandon Stevens at the Wills Point 13 yard line. Forney immediately scored with Sylvester Smith breaking up the middle for 13 yards and the Jackrabbits led 12 - 0. The try for 2 points failed again and the Jackrabbits held a 12 - 0 lead at 1:54 in the 1st quarter. After the ensuing kickoff the Jackrabbits intercepted Stevens again on the 1st play from scrimmage and the Jackrabbits were back in business at the Wills Point 30 yard line. At 11:15 of the 2nd quarter Caleb Hanie threw to Taylor Adams for another Jackrabbit touchdown. Colin Knowles kick was good and the Jackrabbits led 19 - 0. After holding the Tigers the Jackrabbits scored again with Baylen Laury scoring from the 2 yard line with 9:21 left in the half. Knowles kick was good and the Jackrabbits jumped out to a 25 - 0 lead. With 7:35 left in the half Chance Corgan raced 38 yards for the Jackrabbits 5th touchdown. Knowles kick was good making the score 33 - 0. At 5:49 in the half Baylen Laury ran 51 yards for his 3rd touchdown. After Knowles converted the score was 40 - 0. With 3:53 in the 3rd Chance Corgan recovered a Tiger fumble at the Jackrabbits 10 yard line. With :21 seconds left in the half Caleb Hanie threw to Kelly Flanery for a 30 yard touchdown. The half mercifuly ended with the Jackrabbits leading 47 - 0. In the 4th quarter Colin Knowles connected on a booming 50 yard field goal that would probally been good from 60 yards. Wills Point finally got on the score board with :37 seconds left in the game to avoid the shut out. Final score 50 - 8. Caleb Hanie rushed for 80 yards on 4 attempts, Mekelee Webb rushed 8 times for 70 yards and Chance Corgan rushed once for 38 yards and a touchdown. Hanie was 4 of 10 passing for 48 yards. The Tigers were only able to manage 92 yards on 22 attempts. Wills Point Quarterback Brandon Stevens completed 19 of 33 for 143 yards but suffered 2 interceptions. The Jackrabbits will face Carthage in the Area Playoffs next Thursday night at Tyler Rose Stadium. Carthage beat Longview Spring Hill 62 - 30 in Bi-District Play. Click the Pictures below to enlarge.
