The Forney High School Lady Rabbits advance to the Regional Finals after beating the Midlothian Panthers 7 to 1 at Duncanvill on Saturday.
Sara Bellcracked a 3 run Homer in the third inning and went 3-for-3, a single, a double, a home run and notched three RBIs to lead Forney to a 7-1 win over Midlothian in Game 3 of the best of 3 Class 4A Region II semifinal series. Britney Benedict was again impressive holding the Panthers at bay. Erica Leflore hit a triple for the Lady Rabbits and Brianne Elkins hit a two run double for the Lady Rabbits. Forney, the eighth-ranked 4A team in the state advances to the Regional Finals and play second-ranked McKinney North in a best of 3 regional final series, Wednesday at Plano West High School at 7 p.m.

Forney pitcher Britney Benedict shut out Midlothian for 16 consecutive innings but, Midlothian finally scored in the eighth inning of game 2 on a single by Megan Curry to center field scoring Tori Benavidez from third to beat Forney in game 2 of the 3 game series. The Lady Rabbits were only able to get 3 hits in the game.

Going into Game 2 Benedict is 30-7 with 277 strikeouts in 216 innings. She pitched her 19th shutout of the season Tuesday as Forney beat Midlothian, 1-0, in nine innings in Game 1 of their best-of-3 Class 4A Region II semifinal series.

Mallory Mitchell's sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning, driving in the games only run was all that Britiney Benedict needed to beat the Midlothian Lady Panthers in Game 1 of a best-of-3 series Tuesday night in the Class 4A Region II semifinal at Duncanville. Britney Benedict pitched a four-hitter and struck out 11 as Forney beat Midlothian, 1-0. The Lady Rabbits continued their hitting binge with 10 hits. Game 2 is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Duncanville.
