West Mesquite scored early in the 1st quarter on a 16 yard run by Kendal Thomas. Christopher Walls kick was good and the Wranglers took a 7 - 0 lead. Later in the quarter Greg Robinson returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown giving the Wranglers a 13 - 0 lead. The try for point was blocked. The Jackrabbits answered with a 14 yard touchdown on a pass from Landon Hartwick to Tyler McElveen. Tucker Burke's kick was good and the Jackrabbits trailed the Wranglers 13 to 7. West Mesquite countered on a 38 yard touchdown run by Kenny Davis. Walls kick was good and the Wranglers led the Jackrabbits 20 to 7 at the end of the 1st quarter.
Early in the 2nd quarter Landon Hartwick threw 15 yards to Braydon Maquar who was open near the goal line and Maquar fought his way into the end zone for the score. Burke's kick was good and the jackrabbits narrowed the score to 20 to 14. As the half came to a close the Wranglers increased their lead to 23 to 14 on a 30 yard field goal by Christopher Walls.
After the half the Jackrabbits held the Wranglers scoreless but could only muster 6 points on Peter Smith's 25 yard touchdown run. The try for point failed and the Wranglers held on for a 23 - 20 win. Peter Smith finished the game with 155 yards rushing while quarterback Landon Hartwick completed 11 of 13 for 119 yards and 2 touchdowns. Braydon Maquar caught 5 passes for 61 yards and a touchdown. Darly Wafford also had an outstanding night with 4 catches for 37 yards.
