Waco Midway reeled off 35 points before the Jackrabbits could finally get on the scoreboard in the 4th quarter. Midway shut down the Forney running game which was one of the most prolific in the state allowing the Jackrabbits just 54 yards on 29 attempts. Unable to move the ball on the ground the Jackrabbits had to rely on the pass and Blake Branton passed for 210 yards completing 12 of 25 and 1 touchdown, a 65 yard strike to Kezie Camp in the 4th quarter. Midway running back John Hubert scored three times and had 28 carries for 190 yards to lead Waco Midway. Hubert outgained Forney by himself in the first half, accumulating 94 yards rushing in the half. The Jackrabbits only had 64 yards of offense in the 1st half. Midway ran over the Jackrabbit defense for 230 yards on 46 attempts. Forney's offense finally got on track in the fourth quarter. Its longest offensive play of the game resulted in a touchdown when Kezie Camp caught a 65-yard pass from Blake Branton. Forney added a second touchdown with 1:42 remaining in the game when Peter Smith scored from eight yards out.
